Distinguished Alumni Awards

One of the highlights of the 2018 Senior/Alumni Night on Thursday, April 26, will be the announcement of the Distinguished Alumni awards.

The Nelson County Schools Community Support Foundation (NCSCSF) is sponsoring the evening and encourages the nomination of candidates.

Nominees should have graduated no later than 2008. They should show excellence in academic or professional achievements, contributions to the community through education, and service to Nelson County Schools through community or education.

Graduates of the following schools are eligible: Bloomfield High School, Boston High School, Chaplin High School, Old Kentucky Home School, and Nelson County (Senior) High School.

From the Distinguished Alumni winners, the T. Gerald Florence Award winner will be selected and also announced on April 26.

About T. Gerald Florence

This award is in memory of Nelson County High School’s first principal, Thomas Gerald Florence (1927-1999). He led NCHS from 1969-1982. Mr. Florence spent a total of 43 years as an educator, serving Nelson County as a teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent.
