Scholarship Awards

The Community Support Foundation has awarded four scholarships in 2017.

Paula Marie Gagne

Paula Marie Gagne, Nelson County High School, garnered the Ann Ewing Memorial Scholarship Award of $1,000. It recognizes a student with significant achievements in the study of mathematics. The scholarship honors the memory of long-time Nelson County math teacher Ann Ewing. With her is Foundation Executive Director Dorothy White.

Haley Abell

Haley Abell, Nelson County High School, received the Cindy Ethington Memorial Scholarship Award of $1,000. The scholarship honors the memory of long-time NCHS drama and English teacher Cindy Cusick Ethington. It is presented to a student with exceptional achievements in English and/or drama programs. Executive Director Dorothy White makes the presentation.

Carsyn G. Kidwell

Thomas Nelson High School student Carsyn G. Kidwell received a Tyler M. Foster Memorial Scholarship Award for $1,000. The award honors students who have made a significant impact on others or on the community. It is in memory of Tyler M. Foster, a Nelson County graduate. Tyler Foster’s parents, Dale and Lila Foster, presented the scholarship.

Jarret Cole Stiles

Thomas Nelson High School student Jarret Cole Stiles received a Tyler M. Foster Memorial Scholarship Award of $1,000. The award honors students who have made a significant impact on others or on the community. Tyler Foster’s parents, Dale and Lila Foster, presented the scholarship.
